The beginning of the Testing Ground project marks the first phase of the experimental research process through which reparative methods are developed.
The Reparative Explorations seminar, through a series of online conversations, mediated the introductory ideas and process proposals of the international research teams from Slovenia, Poland and Croatia, opening the field for discussion about the potentials of different experimental research methodologies.
The conversation series within the seminar was attended by the illustrator and designer Maja Maar, who shaped the focus of the talks and their context into illustrated reviews.
The Pursuit of Joy on April 4 opened up questions about the possibility of pleasure and joy as a trigger in research processes. Researchers Una Bauer, Klara Otorepec and Ola Knychalska took part in the conversation, and the program was moderated by editor, researcher and cultural worker Hana Sirovica.
More-than-human potentials on April 11 was dedicated to perspectives that question established hierarchies between species and phenomena on Earth. Biologist and artist Krysia Jedrzejewska-Szmek, visual artist and researcher Ana Kuzmanić and playwright and art researcher Tery Žeželj participated in the conversation. The program was moderated by Olga Roszkowska, an expert in education and an artist focusing on climate issues.
The focus of the Feminist Pathways conversation on April 18 was ways of working in our research and artistic practices, whereby “feminist” is seen as a type of awareness that allows us to see the problems of normative ways of working, as well as other social situations whose main goal is (re)productivity. Researchers, artists and cultural workers Tjaša Črnigoj, Nina Gojić and Pola Salicka took part in the conversation, and it was moderated by editor and cultural worker Pia Brezavšček.
